Indiana joined five other Big Ten field hockey teams in the top 20 of the newest Kookaburra/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, giving the Big Ten six ranked teams in the rankings this week. The six conference squads ranked are tied for the most among any conference in the nation.
Off to a 3-1 start, the Hoosiers checked in at No. 18 in the second poll of the season. Michigan State leads the Big Ten charge in the rankings, moving up to No. 7. Penn State was voted in at No. 13, while Iowa, Indiana, Ohio State and Michigan settled into the last four spots of the 20-team poll. Northwestern finished a few points out of the top 20 and is receiving votes.
