In the sixth weekend of Big Ten play, Iowa once again rallied from a deficit, this time trailing Indiana, 24-14, before exploding for 28 fourth-quarter points in a 42-24 triumph. The Hawkeyes are now 9-0 for the first time in school history and 5-0 in conference to hold onto first place in the standings. The two teams that shared the Big Ten title last season were both victorious and stand at 4-1 in conference play, just one game back in the standings in second place. Penn State tallied 21 fourth-quarter points to break a 13-13 tie and pull away for a 34-13 win at Northwestern. Ohio State wrapped up non-conference play with a 45-0 triumph over New Mexico State, as the Buckeyes' recorded their third shutout in a season for the first time since 1996. Meanwhile, Wisconsin moved into the conference title race by blanking Purdue, 37-0, to improve to 3-2 in conference action, just two games back.
