Iowa tight end Tony Moeaki was named John Mackey Tight End of the Week, as announced by the Nassau County Sports Commission on Wednesday. The Hawkeye senior, who was named to the John Mackey Award Watch List in the preseason, hauled in six passes for 105 yards and two touchdowns as Iowa remained unbeaten after a 30-28 victory over the Michigan Wolverines Saturday night. The John Mackey Award is presented annually to the nation's best tight end, with the first award being presented in 2000. It has been awarded to a Big Ten student-athlete three times, the most of any conference in the nation. This year's award winner will be announced at the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards Show on Dec. 10.
