The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced its Bowl Championship Subdivision National Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for games ending October 17 and Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan is the defensive honoree. Kerrigan recorded nine tackles, including four for losses, and three quarterback sacks, as the Boilermakers upset 7th-ranked Ohio State, 26-18. Kerrigan forced two fumbles and also recovered a fumble as Purdue earned its first win over a ranked opponent since the 2003 season. This is the sixth year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.
