MSCR: Players of the Week

The conference office announced on Monday the fifth weekly men's soccer award winners for the 2009 season. Indiana's Andy Adlard and Penn State's Matheus Braga earned a share of the Offensive Player of the Week award and Northwestern's Misha Rosenthal was tabbed Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sept. 28-Oct. 4.

Adlard notched his first career multiple-goal game, aiding the Hoosiers to a 3-0 rout over No. 13 Kentucky - their first win over a ranked opponent this season. His pair of goals upped his season total to three, good enough for second on team. Also demonstrating offensive prowess was Penn State' Braga. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil native celebrated more than just an Olympic bid last week, notching the game-winning goal to lead the Nittany Lions in their 1-0 defeat over Michigan State on Sunday. On the defensive end, Northwestern's Misha Rosenthal returned to the net after missing the previous two games due to injury, where he posted his school-record 25th career shutout to down the Buckeyes, 1-0, in the Wildcats' Big Ten opener.
