The conference office announced today weekly women's soccer award winners for games played through Oct. 5-11. Danielle Toney garnered weekly offensive laurels after notching an impressive six points in Penn State's pair of shutouts over Northwestern (2-0) and Iowa (4-0). On the defensive end, Minnesota's Jennie Clark raked in the weekly award after sparking the Gopher defense to a 1-0 upset over No. 9 Purdue. With the win, Minnesota becomes the first Midwest team to shutout the Boilermakers and return from West Lafayette, Ind., victorious, in 2009. In addition, Haley Kopmeyer became the first-ever Michigan newcomer to bring home Freshman of the Week honors. The redshirt-freshman goalkeeper came up strong between the pipes on Sunday, making two monster saves in overtime to preserve the 0-0 draw against in-state rival Michigan State. READ MORE ...
