WSCR: Weekend Preview

The second weekend of Big Ten women's soccer competition gets underway today with four conference teams in action. Opening the weekend slate will be No. 12 Purdue welcoming Illinois for a 4 p.m. (ET) contest. Later in the evening, Indiana plays host to No. 20 Michigan State at 7:30 p.m. (ET).

Sunday's schedule highlights five conference matchups, beginning with a 1 p.m. (ET) showdown between the Boilermakers and Spartans in West Lafayette, Ind. Meanwhile, Penn State welcomes No. 15 Ohio State to Happy Valley in its Big Ten home opener, slated for 1 p.m. (ET). The Nittany Lions look to halt the red-hot Buckeyes, who will be competing for their seventh straight win. Sunday will also celebrate Pink Day at Jeffery Field to support breast cancer awareness.

A trio of conference matchups decorates Sunday's second flight of games, all scheduled for 2 p.m. (ET) start times. Illinois and Indiana look to garner their first Big Ten wins of the season as the two teams clash in Bloomington, Ind. Joining them in the hunt for its first win over a conference opponent is Iowa, who will entertain Wisconsin in a contest set to air live on the Big Ten Network. Minnesota will take a break from conference action as it hosts South Dakota at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium. The Golden Gophers surged to the top of the conference standings with a road win over Wisconsin on Thursday, improving their unblemished Big Ten ledger to 2-0-1. Wrapping up this weekend's conference matchups is Northwestern at Michigan, programmed for a 3:30 (ET) start.
