Minnesota def. Northern Illinois, 89-48
Junior guard Blake Hoffarber posted a career-high 26 points to power Minnesota past Northern Illinois in convincing fashion Tuesday night, downing the Huskies 89-48 in front a home crowd of 12,055. The red-hot Hoffarber connected on 9-of-11 field goals in the contest, including 8-of-10 from behind the arc to break Minnesota's single-game record of seven treys. The sharpshooter has averaged 19.3 points over the last for outings to lead the Golden Gophers who are averaging nearly 93 points per contest during that stretch. Minnesota will break from competition for final exams before returning to Williams Arena on Dec. 23, as the Gophers look to extend their win streak to five against South Dakota State.
