Loyola (Md.) def. INDIANA, 72-67
The Indiana men's basketball team rallied from a 24-point deficit to take a three-point lead, but visiting Loyola (Maryland) regained its composure and pulled off a 72-67 win over the Hoosiers in Assembly Hall, Tuesday night. The visiting Greyhounds scored the game's first 15 points and led 46-22 with 1:38 to go in the first half before the Hoosiers scored the final six points of the period to go into the locker room behind, 46-28 after freshman Jordan Hulls hit a three-pointer at the buzzer. NCAA records show the largest halftime deficit the Hoosiers have overcome in their history was a 45-26 led held by Indiana State on November 14, 1998. IU went on to win that game, 76-70. #2/2 Texas def. #9/9 MICHIGAN STATE, 79-68
Damion James had 23 points and 13 rebounds, leading No. 2 Texas past No. 9 Michigan State 79-68 on Tuesday night, giving the Longhorns consecutive wins over Top 10 teams. Like the victory over No. 10 North Carolina on Saturday, James led this one. He followed his 25 points and 15 rebounds against the Tar Heels with another big showing to rally the Longhorns (11-0) from an early deficit. Recap & Boxscore

MICHIGAN def. Coppin State, 76-46
The University of Michigan men's basketball team dominated Coppin State, 76-46, on Tuesday for the program's 500th all-time win at Crisler Arena. Sophomore guard Stu Douglass led four Michigan double-digit scorers, tying career highs in points (20) and three-pointers (6). Senior forward DeShawn Sims added 18, while sophomore guard Zack Novak chipped in 11. The Wolverines came out of the gates with a hot hand, scoring 41 points, their highest first-half output since the season opener on Nov. 14 against Northern Michigan. Recap & Boxscore

#4/4 PURDUE def. SIU-Edwardsville, 90-63
JaJuan Johnson scored 16 points and E'Twaun Moore added 15, leading No. 4 Purdue past SIU-Edwardsville 90-63 on Tuesday night. The Boilermakers (11-0) matched the second-best start in school history and the longest winning streak under coach Matt Painter. NORTHWESTERN def. Central Connecticut State, 74-54
Sophomore forward John Shurna rang up a career-best 29 points on 12-of-16 shooting to carry Northwestern to a 74-54 victory over Central Connecticut State Tuesday at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Shurna's fourth 20-point performance of the season, coupled with 15 points by freshman Drew Crawford, helped NU conclude the primary portion of its non-conference schedule with a 10-1 record. #17/17 OHIO STATE def. Cleveland State, 72-59
David Lighty scored a career-high 30 points against his hometown team, leading No. 17 Ohio State past Cleveland State 72-59 on Tuesday night. Lighty, a junior picking up the slack for the injured Evan Turner, scored 22 points in the second half as the Buckeyes (10-2) pulled away in their final game before opening Big Ten play at Wisconsin on Dec. 31. William Buford added 13 points and Dallas Lauderdale had 12 for the Buckeyes, who won their third in a row. Recap & Boxscore
