Illinois is appearing in the final top 10 for the sixth time and is making its highest showing in the final poll since 1992, when it ranked sixth. Minnesota has finished the season ranked in the top 10 four times and the top five three times. The Gophers have appeared in nine final polls and are making their highest showing since 2004, when they ranked second.
