Trailing 35-21 with less than four minutes to play, Northwestern rallied to tie Auburn and force overtime before falling in the extra session in the Outback Bowl. Wildcats quarterback Mike Kafka threw for 532 yards and four touchdowns to force overtime, but NU failed on a fake field goal attempt to give Auburn the 38-35 triumph.
