IU Game Notes | U-M Game Notes

The Michigan Wolverines will have redemption on their minds when they entertain Indiana from inside Crisler Arena on Thursday evening. The two teams will clash for the second time in as many weeks in front of a national stage on ESPN, with tip-off slated for 9 p.m. ET. The Hoosiers proved victories in the last meeting between the two teams on Dec. 31, pulling ahead of Michigan in the final minutes of play to edge the Wolverines 71-65, to open conference play.

Junior Verdell Jones III led the Hoosiers (7-8, 1-2) in the Big Ten season opener with 20 points and seven assists while freshman Christian Watford added 19 points in the win. With Maurice Creek sidelined due to knee surgery, Jones leads IU in scoring with 13.1 points per game.

Indiana native Zack Novak hit four long-range buckets to lead Michigan (8-7, 2-2) with a season-best 18 points in U-M's previous clash against the Hoosiers. Fellow Indiana-native Stu Dougalss added four triples of his own as he closed with 14 points. Michigan's own "Motor City Duo" of DeShawn Sims and Manny Harris continue to be one of the best one-two scoring combinations in the country. Harris leads the team with a 19.7 ppg. average while Sims is not far behind at 17.3 per game. In addition, both pull down around seven rebounds per outing.

Indiana and Michigan enter Tuesday's matchup thirsty for a win after dropping their last decisions at home against Illinois and Northwestern, respectively.

Tune in as ESPN's Brent Musburger and Steve Lavin provide live coverage of Thursday's one and only Big Ten matchup.
