The Big Ten's top two leading scorers are set to collide Thursday night as Talor Battle leads Penn State in welcoming Michigan and Manny Harris for a 7 p.m. ET showdown inside the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pa. The Nittany Lions (8-6, 0-2) will be on the prowl for their first Big Ten win of the season against a recharged Michigan squad that is fresh off an impressive victory over then No. 15-ranked Ohio State.
Thursday night's contest will mark the fifth meeting between Battle and Harris, who were each recently named among the top 20 finalists for the Bob Cousy Award. Of their four previous meetings, none was more memorable than their duel in 2008 when Battle posted 28 points, 13 rebounds and six assists while Harris logged 29 points, five boards and an assist in a 69-61 PSU victory. Tonight's matchup boasts potential for more stellar performances from the junior first-team All-Big Ten duo as the race for the Big Ten scoring title chase heats up.
Michigan leads the all-time series between the two teams, but Penn State has won two of the last three including a 73-58 victory in the Jordan Center last season.
