The conference office announced on Monday the second weekly men's indoor track and field awards for meets through January 11-17. Ohio State's Thomas Murdaugh earned a share of the weekly track laurel for the second straight week along with Ryan Foster of Penn State in what proved to be a record-setting weekend. Meanwhile, Michigan State's Kyron Foster set a school record in the triple jump to garner Field Athlete of the Week honors.
The Buckeye sophomore posted two meet records and NCAA provisional marks en route to a pair of top finishes in the 400 meters and mile relay to lead Ohio State to a 92-70 victory in the Dual meet over Michigan on Saturday. Also on the track, PSU's Foster clocked a school record with a blistering 2:19.60 in the 1,000-meters. With the new meet and facility record, the Tasmania native became the 2010 world leader in the vent and set a new Australian national record.
MSU's Foster also set a school record and national leading leap of 16.06 meters in the triple jump during the Kentucky Invitational on Friday. The NCAA provisional mark narrowly edged the defending national champion, Andre Black of Louisville by 0.03 meters, for first place.
