Buchanan wins his first Big Ten Athlete of the Week honor after leading Ohio State to wins against No. 13 Pepperdine and No. 22 North Carolina over the weekend. Playing at No. 1 singles against both squads, Buchanan, ranked 103rd in the nation, first knocked off No. 90 Bassam Beidas of Pepperdine, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2), as the No. 3 Buckeyes defeated the Waves, 6-1, on Friday. On Sunday, the sophomore defeated No. 36 Clay Donato of North Carolina in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, to help Ohio State defeat the Tar Heels, 6-1, move to 6-0 on the season, and run its consecutive home-match winning streak to 95.
