Minnesota had a strong showing on the opening day of the Men's Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championships, collecting four medals, including a pair of gold-winning performances in the shot put and pole vault competitions to take the lead with 49.50 team points after Day One. Ohio State follows close behind in second place with 40.50 team tallies while Purdue (31) rounds out the top three.
