Semifinal #1 of the Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament is in the books and top-seeded Ohio State has escaped with an 88-81 double-overtime win over No. 6 Illinois.

The 169 combined points are the third-most in Big Ten Tournament history and mark the highest scoring game in the tournament since 2002.

Ironically, it was Illinois and Ohio State who combined to set the BTT record of 182 points back in the 2002 tournament semifinals when the Buckeyes defeated the Illini, 94-88 --  a win that was later vacated by Ohio State due to NCAA sanctions.

Illinois has also been involved in each of the Big Ten Tournament's top three scoring contests as listed below:

182 - 2002 BTT Semifinals:  No. 2 Ohio State def. No. 3 Illinois, 94-88
178 - 2000 BTT Semifinals:  No. 4 Illinois def. No. 9 Penn State, 94-84
169 - 2010 BTT Semifinals:  No. 1 Ohio State def. No. 6 Illinois, 88-81 (2OT)
