Hawkeye right-hander Nick Brown pitched a season-high eight innings to lead Iowa to a 6-4 win over Illinois on Saturday. Brown scattered six hits for three runs with two strikeouts to pick up his second win of the year. Kevin Lee picked up his fifth save of the season. Mike McQuillan led the Hawkeye offense with two hits, including a double, and a pair of RBI. Willie Argo hit his second homer of the year for the Illini, a three-run shot in the third. Kevin Johnson was tagged with the loss.

Michael Earley broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the 10th with a solo homer to lead off the inning, lifting the Hoosiers to an extra-inning win at Ohio State on Saturday. Earley and Micah Johnson had three hits each for the Hoosiers, while Johnson also scored two runs Drew Leininger improved to 5-1 on the year, scattering four hits without allowing an earned run and striking out eight in nine innings. Chris Squires picked up his fifth save of the year, while Eric Best was tagged with the loss. Brian DeLucia's grand slam, his fourth homer of the year, led the Buckeye offense.

Michigan scored five runs over the first two innings to even the series with Purdue on a 6-4 win on Saturday. Ryan LaMarre had three hits for the Wolverines, including a double, also driving in and scoring one run. Bobby Brosnahan picked up his fourth win of the year, while Tyler Burgoon earned his fourth save. Blake Mascarello was tagged with the loss for the Boilermakers. Eric Charles and Cameron Perkins each had two hits and scored a run to pace Purdue at the plate.

Michigan State claimed sole possession of first place in the Big Ten standings with a 12-5 win at Minnesota on Saturday. Four Spartans had multiple hits, including Eli Boike and Ryan Jones who had three each. Boike drove in two runs and scored one, while Jones tallied one RBI and crossed home four times. Kurt Wunderlich improved to 6-1, allowing four earned runs on 11 hits with four strikeouts in eight innings. TJ Oakes was tagged with the loss. AJ Pettersen led the Gophers at the plate with three hits and two runs scored, while Kyle Knudson drove in a pair.

Geoff Rowan tallied three hits, including a two-out double in the 11th plate the go-ahead run, leading Northwestern to a 3-2 win at Penn State on Saturday. Rowan's hit plated Zach Morton, who had two hits and an RBI in addition to his game-winning run. Morton also picked up the win, throwing three scoreless innings in relief. Eric Jokisch was solid in the start for the Wildcats, giving up just two runs on six hits with eight strikeouts in nine innings. Paul Snieder, who was 3-for-5 at the plate, picked up his third save. Ryan Ignas was the tough-luck loser, giving up just one earned run while scattering 10 hits in a career-high 7.1 innings.
