Michigan State earned the series win over Illinois with a 16-1 win on Saturday. Torsten Boss went 2-for-3 and Bo Felt went 3-for-4 for the Spartans, each with a home run and four RBI. Jonathan Roof and Jeff Holm each had four hits and a pair of RBI, while Roof scored four runs and Holm scored three. Tony Bucciferro earned the win, allowing an unearned run on six hits with three strikeouts in seven innings. Will Strack was tagged with the loss. Christian Cummins led the Illini with three hits, while Thomas Shelton had two.

Matt Bischoff became Purdue's all-time strikeout leader, fanning 10 Northwestern players as the Boilermakers took Game 1 of a Saturday doubleheader, 2-1. Bischoff picked up his sixth win of the season, scattering seven hits and three walks without allowing a run in eight innings. Tyler Spillner and Eric Charles had two hits each to lead the Boilermakers. Jon Moore scored the eventual game-winner in the fifth on a straight steal of home. Eric Jokisch was the tough-luck loser for the Wildcats despite allowing just two runs on seven hits and two walks in a complete-game effort. Chad Noble and Chris Lashmet led the NU offense with 2-for-4 performances.

Northwestern snapped Purdue's longest winning streak since 2001 with a 7-5 victory over the Boilermakers in the nightcap of Saturday's doubleheader. Chad Noble, Chris Lashmet and Trevor Stevens had two hits each for the Wildcats, while Zach Morton scored three runs and Hamilton Wise had a pair of RBI. Francis Brooke picked up the win in relief, allowing two runs on six hits in 4.1 innings, while Paul Snieder picked up his eighth save with a perfect ninth. Matt Morgan took the loss for Purdue. Cameron Perkins went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs to lead the Boilermakers.

Penn State took Game 2 of the series at Ohio State on Saturday, knocking off the Buckeyes, 18-10. The Nittany Lions jumped out to a 4-1 lead after the first, then had two more big innings with six in the third and four in the ninth. Elliot Searer had five hits and three runs for the Nittany Lions, while Ben Heath had four hits, four runs and four RBI, hitting his 13th and 14th home runs. David Lutz picked up the win with 4.2 scoreless relief innings, while Ohio State starter Drew Rucinski was tagged with the loss. Michael Stephens led the Buckeyes with three hits, four RBI and one run.
