Storylines: One of the Big Ten's four co-leaders, Northwestern heads to Illinois for a three-game set that will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Two-way players Paul Snieder and Zach Morton lead the Wildcats on offense, Snieder ranking 10th in the conference with a .377 average and Morton ranking 10th with a .458 on-base percentage. Snieder also has an ERA of 1.93, while Morton holds a 2-4 record on the mound. Casey McMurray fronts the Illini offense with a .367 average and a slugging percentage of .602 which ranks eighth in conference.

Storylines: Indiana and Purdue represent two of the three teams tied for fifth in the Big Ten standings, and both will rely on different strengths in the weekend's series. Purdue owns one of the conference's top pitching staffs with a collective opposing batting average of .271, which is first in the Big Ten, and an ERA of 4.47, which is second. The Boilermakers also lead the conference with 319 strikeouts, led by ace Matt Bischoff who has an ERA of 2.37 and has held opponents to .247 hitting. Indiana boasts one of the nation's most powerful offenses, led by Alex Dickerson and Jerrud Sabourin. Dickerson is first in the Big Ten in slugging (.810), RBI (55) and home runs (17) and second in average (.411), second only to Sabourin's mark of .429.

Storylines: Iowa and Minnesota both look to improve their standings in the conference standings, the Gophers coming in tied for fifth, and the Hawkeyes just one game behind in a tie for eighth. On the mound, Minnesota's Seth Rosin is the nation's leader in walks allowed, having surrendered just two in 64 innings of work. Phil Isaksson, the Gophers' Saturday starter, is among the Big Ten's best in ERA (3.40) and opponents' batting average (.232). Hawkeye ace Jarred Hippen ranks among the Big Ten's leaders with a 3.46 ERA and 44 strikeouts, while Kevin Lee is tied for the Big Ten lead with eight saves this year.

Storylines: Two of the Big Ten's co-leaders meet this weekend as Michigan hosts Ohio State. Collectively, the Buckeyes lead the conference with a .335 average, led by Zach Hurley who is hitting .406 and slugging .663. National Pitcher of the Year candidate Alex Wimmers anchors the OSU pitching staff with a conference-leading 1.61 ERA and a 9-0 record, which is tied for the national lead. The Wolverines are led by Ryan LaMarre, who leads the Big Ten in average (.632), slugging (1.000) and on-base percentage during conference play. Wolverine catcher Chris Berset leads the Big Ten in on-base percentage (.480) in all games, played, while Patrick Biondi paces the conference with 52 runs scored.

Storylines: Michigan State heads to Penn State as one of four Big Ten co-leaders, while Penn State looks to get out of the Big Ten cellar despite just being three games back of the leaders. The Spartans lead the conference in average (.356), slugging (.559) and ERA (4.17) during Big Ten play and rank second in the NCAA in fielding (.980) in all games played. Eli Boike (.400), Jeff Holm (.388) and Ryan Jones (.382) lead MSU on offense, all ranking among the Big Ten's best in average. Penn State is led by catcher Ben Heath, ranking among the conference's elite in slugging (.745), RBI (47) and homers (15). Reliever David Lutz is the Big Ten's leader in appearances with 27, also ranking among the conference's best in ERA (3.57) and opponents' batting average (.271).
