MTRACK: Indiana's Bayer and Drouin Tabbed Athletes of the Week

The Big Ten Conference office announced on Wednesday the third weekly men's outdoor track and field awards for meets through April 7-13. Indiana swept the weekly awards for the second time this season as Hoosier sophomores Andy Bayer and Derek Drouin earned the nod as Big Ten Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively.

Bayer collects his second Big Ten Athlete of the Week award in 2010 after posting a winning time of 3:41.87 in the 1,500-meter open at the Border Battle last week. The Leo, Ind., native now owns the fourth-best time in Division I this season, and the 10th best time in school history in the event.

Meanwhile, Drouin posted 13 points for the Hoosiers, winning the high jump and 110m hurdles while taking second in the javelin Drouin's clearance is 1.5 inches better than the closest jumper in Big Ten this season and also ranks sixth in the nation. READ MORE ...
