W GYM: Heading To Nationals

The NCAA officially announced the teams and individuals that qualified to compete for the 2010 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Florida on April 22-24.

Michigan will be one of the 12 squds competing for the team title after qualifying out of the Morgantown Regional with a score of 195.800. The Wolverines advance to their 18th NCAA Championships and will begin competition on Thursday, April 22 in one of two semifinals.

Six Big Ten gymnasts qualified for the all-around competition at the national meet, including Illinois' Sarah Schmidt, Iowa's Rebecca Simbhudas, Michigan State's Nicole Curler, Minnesota's Alexis Russell, and Penn State's Sharaya Musser and Brandi Personett. Illinois' Allison Buckley won the vault competition at the Lexington Regional and will compete in the event at the NCAA meet.

Three teams from Thursday's two semifinals advance to the Super Six on Friday, April 23, while the top four individuals from the preliminary team and all-around competition will compete in the individual finals on Saturday, April 24.
