WTRACK: Indiana and Wisconsin Garner First Weekly Honors of 2010 Outdoor Season

The Big Ten Conference office announced on Wednesday the first weekly women's outdoor track and field awards for meets through March 24-31. Indiana's Caitlin Engel earned the nod as Track Athlete of the Week while Chavon Robinson of Wisconsin collected the weekly field laurel.  

Engel claimed top honors in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Alabama Relays on Saturday, posting a time of 10:46.67. The mark is the fourth fastest in IU history and the 18th-best in Division I this season.

Robinson opened her outdoor season by sweeping the long jump and triple jump titles at the Florida State Relays. Her winning mark in the triple jump bettered the competition by more than 16 inches and ranks second in the nation at 42 feet, 6 inches (12.95m). READ MORE ...
