Three Illini had three hits in the game, including Brandon Hohl who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI and two home runs. Corey Kimes earned the win in relief, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings. Chris Squires was tagged with the loss, giving up four unearned runs. Micah Johnson and Tyler Rogers had three hits each for the Hoosiers, and Johnson hit his 10th homer of the year.

Iowa took Game 1 of a doubleheader with Purdue on Friday, 7-2. Jarred Hippen recorded his fourth complete game of the year, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk with nine strikeouts. Trevor Willis led the Hawkeyes at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored and three RBI. Kevin Plawecki had two hits for the Boilermakers, while Jonathan Lilly and Nick Overmyer had an RBI each. Matt Bischoff took the loss.

Iowa completed the doubleheader sweep over Purdue on Friday with a 5-1 win over the Boilermakers in the nightcap. Kurtis Muller had three hits and a double to lead the Hawkeyes, while Zach McCool had a pair of RBI and a stolen base. Nick Brown earned the win, allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in eight innings, while Zach Robertson picked up the save, giving up just one hit in 2.1 innings of work. Calvin Gunter took the loss for Purdue, and Cameron Perkins led the Boilermakers at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Ryan Jones and Jonathan Roof had three hits each to lead the Spartans on offense, while Kurt Wunderlich picked up the win, giving up one run on four hits and two walks in eight innings. Kurtis Frymier earned his eighth save with a perfect ninth. Paul Snieder took the loss in relief for the Wildcats, while Chris Lashmet led Northwestern on offense, going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Friday's Minnesota at Ohio State game was suspended in the second inning with the Buckeyes owning a 1-0 lead. The game will resume Saturday at 1:05 p.m. ET with the day's regularly scheduled game to begin following its conclusion.
