ILLINOIS def. OHIO STATE, 5-2

Illini pitcher Kevin Johnson held the Buckeyes to a season-low three hits, while Bryan Roberts picked up his ninth save with a perfect ninth. Josh Parr had three RBI on his fourth triple of the season, while Craig Lutes, Mike Giller and Adam Davis had two hits each for Illinois. Dean Wolosiansky was tagged with the loss, giving up five runs on nine hits in four innings.

Left-handed pitcher Eric Jokish tossed a complete game for Northwestern and Chris Lashmet collected four hits, leading the Wildcats to a win on Saturday, helping NU maintain a share of first in the Big Ten standings. Jokisch allowed four runs on eight hits and three walks with seven strikeouts, picking up his fourth win of the year. Lashmet had two RBI and scored two runs with his 12th double of the season. Alex Dickerson led the Hoosiers, going 2-for-4 with a run and two RBI on a double and a home run. Johnny Hoffman took the loss.

IOWA def. PENN STATE, 9-3

Nick Brown pitched seven strong innings to lead the Hawkeyes to a 9-3 win over Penn State on Saturday in Game 2 of the series. Brown gave up two runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings. Mike McQuillan and Ryan Durant had three hits each to lead Iowa, while Phil Keppler was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Ben Heath and Joey DeBernardis both went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI to pace the Nittany Lions. Steven Hill was tagged with the loss in a 5.2-inning start.

MINNESOTA def. MICHIGAN, 5-4

Trip Schultz hit a two-out, two-run single with Minnesota trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth, lifting the Gophers to a win on Saturday, keeping the team in a tie for the Big Ten lead. Scott Matyas earned the win with a perfect ninth, while TJ Oakes tossed a quality start, allowing two earned runs on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings. Mike Dufek and Nick Urban led the Wolverines with two hits each, while Dufek drove in a pair. Tyler Burgoon took the loss in relief.

PURDUE def. MICHIGAN STATE, 8-5

Drew Madia snapped a 4-4 tie with an RBI single in the seventh, and Angelo Cianfrocco tacked on a three-run homer in the ninth to give Purdue an 8-5 in the series opener on Saturday. Jonathan Lilly also had a big night for the Boilermakers, going 3-for-4 with a run, two RBI and a double. Matt Bischoff improved to 8-1, giving up four earned runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts in 7.1 innings, while Joe Haase picked up his seventh save. Torsten Boss led the Spartans, going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and a run scored. A.J. Achter was tagged with the loss, going 6.1 innings in the start.
