Brown gave up two runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts in seven innings. Mike McQuillan and Ryan Durant had three hits each to lead Iowa, while Phil Keppler was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Ben Heath and Joey DeBernardis both went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI to pace the Nittany Lions. Steven Hill was tagged with the loss in a 5.2-inning start.

Mike Dufek and Nick Urban led the Wolverines with two hits each, while Dufek drove in a pair. Tyler Burgoon took the loss in relief.
