Wisconsin Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez announced on Saturday that Yvette Healy has been named head coach of the Badger softball program. Healy comes from Loyola (Chicago), where she served as the head coach of the Rambler program since 2004.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the University of Wisconsin family," Healy said. "The UW athletic department has a world-renowned legacy of winning on a national stage and in the Big Ten."

Healy, who was named the 2007 Horizon League Coach of the Year after leading Loyola to a conference championship, is the second-winningest coach in Loyola softball history. As a player, she was a two-time All-American at DePaul and led the Blue Demons to the College World Series, where the team finished the season third in the nation, as a senior in 1999.
