Seven Big Ten student-athletes have been named to the watch list for the Butkus Award, given annually to the nation's top linebacker and named after former Illini and Hall of Famer Dick Butkus. Big Ten players on the watch list are Illinois' Martez Wilson, Michigan's Jonas Mouton, Michigan State's Greg Jones, Northwestern's Quentin Davie, the Ohio State duo of Ross Homan and Brian Rolle and Wisconsin's Chris Borland. Eight Big Ten standouts have earned the Butkus Award, most recently when the Buckeyes' James Laurinaitis was honored in 2007.
