Love earns the first Big Ten Player of the Week honor of 2010 after pacing the Gophers to three wins and a championship at the Gopher Invite over the weekend. Posting a .407 hitting percentage, the sophomore averaged 4.6 kills per set, while also adding 2.2 digs and 1.1 blocks per set as Minnesota swept Denver, Stony Brook and Marquette. Love totaled 14 kills against Denver, then added 18 against Marquette, but her best attack effort came against Stony Brook, finishing with a .474 hitting percentage in a matchin which she also recorded 10 digs. The honor is the second of Love's career.

Haen claims her first Player of the Week honor after guiding Illinois to the State Farm Illini Classic title and tournament MVP honors. The senior was an integral part of all three Illini victories as she totaled 134 assists on the weekend, an average 14.9 per set in wins over BYU, South Carolina and Middle Tennessee over the weekend. The setter also averaged two digs per set as she totaled 46 assists vs. BYU, 40 against South Carolina and 48 in the tournament finale against Middle Tennessee.

Freshman of the Week:
Ashley Wittman, Minnesota

Wittman wins the first Freshman of the Week honor of the 2010 season, finishing with a .478 hitting percentage in Minnesota's three victories in the Gopher Invite over the weekend. In her debut for the Gophers, Wittman recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs in a three-set Minnesota win against Denver. She followed that effort with 12- and 15-kill efforts against Stony Brook and Marquette, respectively. Wittman received 66 of 67 serves and totaled 26 digs on the weekend.
