Illinois golfers Scott Langley and Thomas Pieters will compete in the 2010 World Amateur Team Championships from Oct. 28 to 31 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The pair of Illini will compete among 70 teams of one to three players for the Eisenhower Trophy.
Langley, the defending NCAA individual Champion and Big Ten Golfer of the Year, will represent the United States in the four-day, 72-hole tournament. The senior helped the Illini to the Big Ten title in 2010 before becoming the first Big Ten golfer to earn medalist honors at the national tournament since 1999. Pieters, an Illini freshman, will compete for his native Belgium in the Championships.
