Ohio State freshman Jared Sullinger scored 40 points in the Buckeyes' win over IUPUI on Thursday. Below are a few notes on his performance:
Sullinger's 40 points set a school single-game freshman scoring record, breaking the old mark by eight points.
It was the 23rd 40-point game by a Buckeye, the first since 1986 and the fourth in the last 45 years.
It marked the first time since 1995 that a Big Ten player scored 40 or more points in a game.
The performance was the second 40-point game by a Big Ten freshman and the first since 1944.
