The conference office announced on Tuesday the first weekly men's indoor track and field awards for the 2011 season. Ohio State's Cody Marshall earns the nod as field athlete of the week.
Freshman Cody Marshall began his collegiate campaign by capturing the first pole vault title as the Buckeyes traveled to Kent State for the Golden Flash Gala last weekend. The East Canton, Ohio, native set a personal record of 4.90 meters to take home the title in Ohio State's first meet. This award marks the first weekly laurel of Marshall's career and the second straight for an Ohio State field athlete since Matt DeChant took home the award in February 2010.
