#2/2 OHIO STATE def. INDIANA, 85-67
Despite shooting 50 percent from the floor and having three players score in double figures, Indiana could not hold off a blistering Ohio State team which made 60.5 percent of its shots and 68.4 percent of its three pointers as the Buckeyes posted an 85-67 victory Friday, in Assembly Hall. RECAP & BOX SCORE

#20/19 MICHIGAN STATE def. #14/13 MINNESOTA, 71-62
Durrell Summers and his Michigan State teammates couldn't buy a field goal in the first half against Minnesota on Friday. Spartans coach Tom Izzo told them to keep firing. Sound advice from one of college basketball's top coaches. Summers scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half and the Spartans (No. 19 ESPN/USA Today, No. 20 AP) shook off a cold first half to open Big Ten play with a 71-62 victory over Minnesota (No. 13 ESPN/USA Today, No. 19 AP).  RECAP & BOX SCORE

#12/11 PURDUE def. #rv/rv NORTHWESTERN, 82-69
It took E'Twaun Moore a little over 6 minutes to tie his career high for 3-pointers.  The Purdue senior dropped his fifth 3 with 13:51 left in the first half against Northwestern on Friday, and he was just getting warmed up. He finished with seven 3s and tied a career high with 31 points to help No. 12 Purdue beat Northwestern 82-69. RECAP & BOX SCORE
