WRES: In the Polls

After a week off, a new batch of NWCA/USA Today and InterMat wrestling rankings have been released, with several Big Ten teams earning new positions in both polls.

Penn State moves up from No. 4 to No. 2 in the NWCA poll after tying for first place at last week's Southern Scuffle. The Nittany Lions are followed by No. 4 Wisconsin and No. 5 Minnesota in the top five. Iowa checks in at No. 7 in this week's poll, followed by No. 10 Illinois, No. 15 Michigan, No. 18 Purdue, No. 21 Northwestern and No. 24 Ohio State.

Penn State also moved up in the InterMat Tournament Rankings, holding No. 4 in this week's edition. No. 5 Wisconsin and No. 6 Minnesota follow closely behind, while No. 11 Michigan, No. 12 Iowa and No. 15 Illinois round out the top 15. Northwestern checks in at No. 21, followed by No. 23 Indiana, No. 37 Purdue, No. 39 Ohio State and No. 44 Michigan State.
