WRES: In the Polls

Eight Big Ten wrestling teams earned spots in the latest NWCA/USA Today Coaches Poll, led by No. 2 Iowa. The second-ranked Hawkeyes received four of the 11 first-place votes after taking down then-top-ranked Penn State last weekend. The Nittany Lions fell to No. 3 in the latest poll, while Minnesota remained at No. 4 and Wisconsin dropped three spots to No. 6. Michigan holds No. 13 for the second week in a row, with Northwestern following at No. 17. Illinois checks in at No. 19 in the latest poll, while Purdue rounds out the conference contingent at No. 24.

Penn State earns the top ranking in the InterMat Team Rankings, checking in at No. 3 this week. Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa follow closely behind at Nos. 4, 5 and 6, respectively. Michigan earns No. 14 in the latest rankings, while Indiana checks in at No. 18. Illinois holds No. 21, followed by No. 25 Northwestern, No. 31 Purdue, No. 36 Ohio State and No. 54 Michigan State.
