WBB: Three Selected to WNIT, Gives Big Ten Eight Postseason Teams

Three Big Ten teams were selected to take part in the Postseason WNIT, it was announced late Monday evening. Michigan, Northwestern and Wisconsin will each take part in the 64-team field, bringing the conference total to eight teams that have been selected to participate in postseason tournaments.

Wisconsin begins first-round play at home against Butler on Wednesday, while Michigan begins play on Thursday, when it travels to Eastern Michigan. Northwestern will host a first-round contest on Thursday when it welcomes Creighton.

Earlier on Monday, five Big Ten teams were chosen to play in the NCAA Championship. It is the third time in the last four seasons the conference has sent eight or more teams to the postseason
