INDIANA def. MICHIGAN, 12-5
For the second straight game, the University of Michigan baseball team had a 2-0 lead in the early going, but Indiana scored 10 straight runs, including a six-run fourth frame, to defeat the Wolverines, 12-5, in the Big Ten opener for both schools Friday afternoon at the Wilpon Complex. OHIO STATE def. NORTHWESTERN, 7-2
Ohio State opened the 2011 Big Ten Conference campaign with a 7-2 victory over Northwestern Friday night before 765 fans on a nippy but tolerable early April evening at Bill Davis Stadium. The win was Ohio State's third consecutive and upped its records to 9-10 and 1-0 in the Big Ten. Northwestern falls to 7-15 overall and 0-1. RECAP & BOX SCORE

ILLINOIS def. PENN STATE, 7-6
The Penn State baseball team erupted for six runs in the first inning, but Illinois eventually settled down and limited the Nittany Lions to just one hit over the final eight frames as the Illini overcame their early deficit on the way to a 7-6 victory over PSU during the Big Ten opener on a chilly Friday afternoon at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
