The Iowa baseball team beat lost the second of a three-game series today, 7-1, to Michigan State today at Duane Banks Field. The win was the fifth in six games for the Spartans. RECAP & BOX SCORE

INDIANA def. MICHIGAN, 10-3
Redshirt sophomore Kevin Krantz's  first career home run lifted the Michigan baseball team to a 3-2 win over Indiana in game one of a doubleheader, before the Hoosiers prevailed in the nightcap, 10-3, on Saturday at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium. The teams were originally slated to play one game on both Saturday and Sunday, but a poor weather forecast for tomorrow created a doubleheader today. RECAPS & BOX SCORES

PURDUE def. MINNESOTA, 7-0
MINNESOTA def. PURDUE, 4-1
The Minnesota baseball team (10-9, 2-1) defeated Purdue (17-10, 1-2) 4-1 in the second game of a doubleheader to claim two of three in the series against the Boilermakers at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn. on Saturday, Apr. 2.

Minnesota won the series opener 9-5 on Friday, Apr. 1, lost the first game of the doubleheader on Apr. 2 7-0 and bounced back to claim the series finale.  RECAPS & BOX SCORES

NORTHWESTERN def. OHIO STATE, 7-3
Ohio State couldn't mount a come-from-behind win for a second consecutive game Saturday, dropping a 7-3 decision to Northwestern that evened the opening Big Ten Conference series at two games apiece. Game 3 will be Sunday at 2:05 p.m. at Bill Davis Stadium. RECAP & BOX SCORE

PENN STATE def. ILLINOIS, 3-1
Sophomore pitcher John Walter tossed a complete game gem and was supported by an outstanding defensive effort, highlighted by a triple play, as the Penn State baseball team upended Illinois, 3-1, during an exciting Big Ten contest on a nice Saturday afternoon at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
