In five games last week, Melloh went 4-0 and picked up a save to help the Hoosiers to a 5-0 record. In 29.1 innings of work, the senior struck out 58 batters, including 21 in an eight-inning affair in the series opener vs. Wisconsin and two other double-digit strikeout performances - 15 against Ohio Staten and 12 in the finale against the Badgers.
"It is a tremendous honor to receive this award and I am very grateful. Without the support of my family, coaches and teammates it would not have been possible," said Melloh. "My teammates made some outstanding plays in the field behind me so it was a total team effort. We had a lot of confidence coming into the week and came up with the hits when we needed them to keep that confidence going in Big Ten play."
