OHIO STATE def. ILLINOIS, 12-7
Illinois scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth after a 30-minute rain delay, including a brief hailstorm, but Ohio State closer Josh Dezse struck out Illini first baseman Thomas Shelton to end the game with the bases loaded as the Buckeyes evened the weekend series with a 12-7 win at Illinois Field on Saturday. DH Justin Parr stayed hot, going 3-for-5 with an RBI infield hit in the ninth and left fielder Casey McMurray was 2-for-3 with two walks, two doubles and two runs. RECAP & BOX SCORE

NORTHWESTERN def. INDIANA, 9-6
Indiana Baseball's weekend series with Northwestern is headed for a rubber match on Sunday following a 9-6 Wildcat victory in the second game of the three-game stint. MINNESOTA def. MICHIGAN, 11-10
Down 11-4 heading into the bottom of the ninth, the University of Michigan baseball team came up with six runs in the inning, but the furious rally fell one run short as the Maize and Blue lost to Minnesota, 11-10, on Saturday afternoon (May 7) at the Wilpon Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium. MICHIGAN STATE def. PURDUE, 5-3
The Michigan State baseball team won its eighth straight Big Ten game at home as the Spartans defeated Purdue, 5-3, Saturday afternoon at McLane Baseball Stadium. The Spartans (29-14, 12-5 Big Ten) are now two games ahead of the Boilermakers (30-15, 10-7) in the conference standings and are assured of being in first place after the weekend series.
