SB: Michigan's Taylor Named Finalist for USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year

Michigan pitcher Jordan Taylor was named one of 10 finalists for the 2011 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year, it was announced on Wednesday. Three finalists for the list of 10 will announced on May 25, and the winner will be honored on May 31 at the NCAA Women's College World Series banquet.

This season, the senior boasts a 27-3 record with a 1.36 ERA in 41 appearances. She is also tied for the national lead in saves with eight. She ranks 17th in the nation with 282 strikeouts on the year, and is allowing just 1.09 walks per seven innings, which ranks 14th in the country. She has earned Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors five times this season.
