EVANSTON, Ill. -- The Minnesota softball team picked up its first conference sweep of the season on Wednesday, taking a pair of games from Northwestern as Sara Moulton tied Minnesota single season records for wins and shutouts. ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The No. 2-ranked University of Michigan softball team reclaimed a share of the top spot in the Big Ten Conference standings with a dominant 9-1, 8-0 doubleheader sweep -- both in six innings -- against rival Ohio State on Wednesday evening (May 4) in front of 1,377 fans at the Wilpon Complex, home of Alumni Field. IOWA CITY, Iowa. - The Illinois Softball team used a balanced offense and complete game pitching performances from Jackie Guy and Pepper Gay to leave the University of Iowa with a doubleheader sweep of the Hawkeyes, 8-2 and 6-2. Danielle Zymkowitz finished the two-game slate with six hits in eight at bats (.750), driving in five runs and scoring four more. Guy and Gay finished with identical 2.00 ERAs on the day, allowing two runs each while throwing a combined 14 innings. With the victories, Illinois improves to 24-20 overall and 11-7 in the Big Ten, further solidifying their hold on the third spot in conference standings. RECAP
