WBB: Big Ten Second Among all Conferences in Average Attendance

The Big Ten finished second among all conferences in average attendance during the 2010-11 women's basketball season, according to the national attendance report released by the NCAA last week. Averaging 4,161 fans per contest last season, the Big Ten was just one of two conferences (Big 12) to average more than 4,000 patrons per game.

Purdue and Michigan State finished among the top 10 in average attendance. The Boilermakers finished eighth at 7,628 fans per game, followed immediately by the Spartans with 7,388. Iowa was 13th at 5,823, Wisconsin was 19th at 4,664 and Penn State was 22nd with an average of 4,305. Ohio State (26th, 3,849) and Minnesota (30th, 3,540) also appeared among the top 50 in attendance last season.
