Purdue head coach Matt Painter led Team USA to a fifth-place finish and a 7-1 record at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China, concluding with an 86-83 win over Germany on Monday.
Minnesota's Trevor Mbakwe recorded 21 points and eight rebounds in the final game, averaging 11.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game during the tournament. Michigan State's Draymond Green posted tournament averages of 8.6 points and 6.0 rebounds over the eight games.
