MXC: Four Big Ten Teams Open 2011 Season Ranked Nationally

Four Big Ten men's cross country teams have earned spots in the preseason USTFCCCA national coaches' top 30 poll, announced on Tuesday. Reigning Big Ten Champion Wisconsin leads the group of ranked conference teams, checking in at No. 3 nationally. Indiana also earns top-10 consideration, holding No. 8 entering the first weekend of competition. Ohio State and Minnesota appear in the top 30 as the Buckeyes stand at No. 25 and the Golden Gophers open the season ranked 27th. Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State are each receiving votes in the first poll of the season.
