Michigan State and Purdue have been selected as preseason top-25 teams in the Golf World/NGCA Preseason Coaches Poll. After finishing the NCAA Championships as national runners-up in 2011, the Boilermakers debut at No. 6 in the preseason poll. The defending Big Ten Champion Spartans enter the season ranked 19th nationally. Ohio State is also receiving votes in the first set of rankings of the season.
