Five Big Ten Players Earn College Football Performance Awards

The College Football Performance Awards for the 11th week of the season have been announced with five Big Ten players earning recognition. Michigan's Ryan Van Bergen was named the National Defensive Performer and Defensive Lineman of the Week while fellow-Wolverine Matt Wile was tabbed as the National Kickoff Specialist of the Week. Michigan State's Brian Linthicum was honored as the National Tight End of the Week, Minnesota's Duane Bennett was named the National Kickoff Returner of the Week and Wisconsin's Russell Wilson was selected as the National Quarterback of the Week. The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferments in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams.
