Nebraska's David Named Butkus Award Finalist

Nebraska's Lavonte David has been selected as a finalist for the Butkus Award, given annually to the top linebacker in the country, as announced on Tuesday. David is one of six finalists for the honor, which is set to be announced on or before Dec. 7. Nine Big Ten linebackers have earned the award all-time -- Ohio State's James Laurinaitis (2007), Penn State's Paul Posluszny (2005) and LaVar Arrington (1999), Ohio State's Andy Katzenmoyer (1997), Illinois' Kevin Hardy (1995) and Dana Howard (1994), Nebraska's Trev Alberts (1993), Michigan's Erick Anderson (1991) and Michigan State's Percy Snow (1989).
