Former Ohio State linebacker Chris Spielman has been named the recipient of the 2011 Walter Camp Alumni Award, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced on Monday. Spielman is the fourth former Big Ten player to earn the award, which is given to an individual who has distinguished himself in the pursuit of excellence as an athlete, in his personal career and in doing good works for others. Fellow Big Ten honorees include Nebraska's Mike Rozier (2006), Ohio State's Archie Griffin (1993) and Penn State's Mike Reid (1987). Spielman will be given the award at the Walter Camp Football Foundation's national awards banquet on Jan. 14.
