The University of Michigan women's basketball team grabbed the lead late in the first half and held on for a 73-62 upset victory over Ohio State on Saturday night at the Crisler Center. U-M's double-digit victory is the program's third straight over the Buckeyes, who were ranked each time. Courtney Boylan powered U-M with a game-high 19 points and six rebounds playing the entire 40 minutes. Sam Arnold added a season-high 13 points off the bench, including 11 in the first half, while Rachel Sheffer scored 11 points and added four rebounds. Michigan State 75, Penn State 65
Behind a dominating first half performance, the Michigan State women's basketball team beat No. 19 Penn State, 75-65, in front of a national television audience on CBS Saturday afternoon. Senior Taylor Alton (20 points) and freshman Kiana Johnson (18 points) each scored career highs leading the Spartans (11-5) to a 3-0 start in Big Ten play. Alton, despite feeling under the weather, went 6-for-9 from behind the arc, tying for the fourth most 3-point field goals made in a MSU single game. RECAP
