CHAMPAIGN, ILL. - The No. 22/21 Penn State Lady Lions (14-4, 4-2) used to gritty performance to battle a tough Illinois (6-13, 0-6) team to the end and managed to come away with the 71-65 win in Champaign Thursday night. Sophomore guard Maggie Lucas (Narberth, Pa.) was a perfect 10-for-10 from the field en route to a game-high 19 points. With the effort, Lucas surpasses the 900-point mark for her career. RECAP

Purdue 82, Indiana 60
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP)--Purdue's Antionette Howard had all the answers Thursday night. If the Boilermakers needed a defensive stop, she got it. If they needed an offensive rebound, she grabbed it. If they needed a physical presence inside, Howard was willing to scuffle. The fifth-year senior scored a season-high 20 points, had eight rebounds and a career-high four steals, leading No. 13 Purdue past archrival Indiana 82-60 with the best all-around game of her career. Iowa 69, Wisconsin 57
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- It was a game that the University of Iowa women's basketball team had to have, and the Hawkeyes found a way to get it done, downing Wisconsin, 69-57, Thursday night on Mediacom Court inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. The victory snapped Iowa's two game losing streak, improving the Hawkeyes' record to 11-8 overall and 3-3 in Big Ten play. Wisconsin falls to 5-13 and 1-5 in conference play. RECAP

Minnesota 71, Michigan State 65
The University of Minnesota women's basketball team played a strong game start to finish Thursday night to hand Michigan State its second Big Ten loss of the season, 71-65, in front of the home crowd at Williams Arena. The victory was the first vs. Michigan State since Feb. 26, 2009, and the first at Williams Arena since Feb. 2 that same year, while it also gave the Spartans back-to-back losses for the first time since Jan. 2010. Minnesota shot .478 from the field in the contest, its highest field goal percentage in Big Ten play this season and its best mark since shooting .533 vs. Harvard on Dec. 10, while it also shot an impressive .711 from the free throw line, making 27 of its 38 attempts. Michigan 58, Northwestern 48
EVANSTON, Ill. -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team picked up a 58-48 win at Northwestern on Thursday evening (Jan. 19) at the Welsh-Ryan Arena. Rachel Sheffer led the Wolverines with 12 points to go with five rebounds. Jenny Ryan tallied 10 points, a team-high eight rebounds and a game-high six steals. Sam Arnold pitched in nine points from 4-of-9 shooting from the floor. Courtney Boylan and Carmen Reynolds pitched in eight points each, with Boylan tying a career best with a game-high seven assists. Kendra Seto posted seven rebounds off the bench. RECAP

Ohio State 82, Nebraska 68
Tayler Hill had 21 points and 10 rebounds and Samantha Prahalis added 19 points and nine assists for the Buckeyes (18-1, 5-1). The game featured four of the top six scorers in the conference in Hill (first at 21.4 points per game) and Prahalis (fourth at 18.3), along with Hooper (third at 19.8) and Moore (sixth at 16.6).
